In Yalta, a 24-year-old resident of the Krasnodar Territory with no previous convictions was detained. The young man is suspected of activities related to drug trafficking. When examining the suspect’s car, the following were found and seized: 1 plastic bag with a white powder substance, 76 slot-locked polymer bags with a white powder substance, 2 plastic bags with blue tablets in the amount of 200 pieces and packing material. As the man explained, these packages contain a drug that he purchased on the Internet site, after which he took the package in a forest belt near Sevastopol for the purpose of further sale.
The seized material was sent to the police for analysis. According to the expert opinion, the samples provided contain in their composition the narcotic drug «mephedrone», weighing 155.5 grams, the narcotic drug — a derivative of N-methylephedron and the narcotic drug medefron, weighing 37.35 grams, the narcotic drug — a derivative of N-methylephedron, weighing 0 .05 grams, narcotic drug — MDMA, with a total weight of 111.63 grams— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The investigator of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Attempt to illegal production, sale or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years. The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of detention.
