In Yalta, a «guest» from the Tyumen region was detained — he stole a safe with jewelry
In Yalta, a 47-year-old man turned to the police with a message about the theft. The victim said that an unknown person entered his apartment, breaking the glass of the window, and stole a metal safe, which contained gold jewelry, real estate documents and 300 thousand rubles. According to the applicant, the safe was kept in a closet in one of the living rooms. The total material damage amounted to … 1.3 million rubles.
An investigative-operational group immediately left for the specified address. As a result of a number of activities, investigators identified and detained the attacker. It turned out to be a 41-year-old resident of the Tyumen region previously convicted of a similar crime.
During the interrogation, the detainee confessed and explained to the police that his wife had previously been married to the victim and somehow hinted in a conversation that there was an unguarded safe with valuable property in her ex-husband’s apartment. Soon, the attacker had a criminal intent — to get to the cache and take the contents for himself. The suspect chose a time when the owner would not be at home and, having broken the window in the window, entered the living quarters from where he took out a metal safe with valuables and documents inside— the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported about the Republic of Crimea.
A search was conducted at the defendant’s place of residence, and the damage was partially compensated. According to part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”), a criminal case was initiated. The offender faces a sentence of imprisonment for up to 6 years.
