In Yalta, a 36-year-old local resident turned to the police and told about the theft of a copper cable. According to the applicant, about 70 kg of metal was stolen by an unidentified person through free access to the territory of a private household. The total amount of damage was 35 thousand rubles.
As a result of operational-search activities, police officers identified and detained a 28-year-old Yalta resident previously convicted for a similar crime.
The attacker wrote a confession and explained that he worked for the victim at a construction site. Knowing that there was a large amount of copper cable on the territory of the serviced object, he waited for the right moment and, when no one was watching, he stole 70 kg of a metal product. The suspect handed over someone else’s property, and spent the proceeds from the sale for personal needs. Currently, police officers are carrying out activities aimed at establishing the whereabouts of the kidnapped— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The investigator of the police department No. 1 «Alupkinsky» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.
