In Yalta, participants in a criminal scheme to deceive pensioners were caught. Scammers «repaired sockets»

In Yalta, a local resident turned to the police with a message about the theft. The man said that two unknown guys entered the apartment of his elderly mother and stole 115 thousand rubles.
The crime scene immediately left the investigative team. As a result of operational-search activities, the police identified the perpetrators and detained them. They turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of the Altai Territory previously convicted of vandalism and a 23-year-old resident of Orenburg previously convicted of fraud.
During interrogation, the detainees explained to the police that they acted according to a previously agreed scheme: by registering themselves as individual entrepreneurs, swindlers chose victims among the elderly— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
Randomly calling subscribers, the attackers offered pensioners services for checking and repairing outdated sockets. After obtaining the consent of the citizens, the defendants visited their apartments and, creating the appearance of repair work, examined the place of residence of elderly citizens in order to secretly steal valuables and money in the future.
After a few days, the swindlers returned to previously worked out addresses, but already as employees of resource-supplying organizations. Once in the apartment, one of the attackers, distracting the owner, gave his partner the opportunity to steal money.
The attackers spent the stolen money on personal needs.
The investigator of the police department No. 1 «Alupkinsky» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed with illegal entry into a dwelling)— noted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The sanction of the article to malefactors is threatened by punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term up to six years.
