In Yalta, the police revealed the fact of exceeding official powers by the head of one of the municipal institutions when concluding a contract for landscaping. The damage caused to the city budget amounted to more than 6.5 million rubles.
The suspect, a 55-year-old citizen, signed a contract with one of the enterprises to perform work on the improvement of the territory of the 51 bus stop pavilion in the city district of Yalta. According to the deal, an amount of more than 25 million rubles was approved. However, the head of the municipal enterprise did not determine the real market value of the urban environment, as a result of which the amount indicated in the contract was unreasonably overstated by 6.5 million rubles.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta stopped the commission of an illegal act by an official, the suspect was identified and detained— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of power). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to four years. Currently, investigations are ongoing. The detainee was charged, a measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen.
