Individuals and commercial organizations will have to pay more than 96.7 million rubles for organizing a landfill

The Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office checked the legality of the development of lands of the state natural landscape reserve of regional significance «Baydarsky».

It was established that in 2025, an individual organized the storage of construction waste and soil dumps within the boundaries of the reserve — on three land plots that belonged to him and adjacent lands of the city. The waste was delivered by a commercial organization under an agreement with the owner of the plots.

As a result of illegal actions, part of a specially protected natural area with a total area of ​​over 8.4 thousand square meters was polluted. m. Components of scrap reinforced concrete structures, concrete, asphalt, reinforcement, and bricks were found in the soil. The amount of damage amounted to more than 96.7 million rubles.

The environmental prosecutor sent a statement of claim to the Balaklava District Court of the city of Sevastopol to impose a joint and several obligation on an individual and a commercial organization to liquidate the landfill and compensate for damage caused to the soil.

The prosecutor’s claim was satisfied. At the request of the prosecutor, the defendants’ accounts were seized by the court and a ban was imposed on the alienation of their real estate.— reported the press service of the city prosecutor’s office.

After the court decision enters into legal force, the prosecutor’s office will monitor its implementation.

In addition, the investigation into the criminal case under Art. 262 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the regime of specially protected natural areas and natural objects), initiated on this fact by the investigative authorities based on the materials of the prosecutor’s inspection.
