It was established that during the patrol by traffic police inspectors near the grocery store in the village of Blizhneye, citizens with signs of alcohol intoxication were noticed, who were traveling in a Nissan car and refused to stop at the request of law enforcement officers. During the pursuit, the police officer first fired a warning shot in the air. After the lack of reaction from the driver of the foreign car, the law enforcement officer fired several bullets at the wheels of the violators’ car, the car lost control, crashed into a street lighting pole and overturned.
As a result of the incident, the driver, a 55-year-old resident of the village of Yuzhnoye, died on the spot from a bullet wound to the head. It was previously established that one of the bullets ricocheted off the body of the car into the head of the deceased. Injured 48-year-old passenger of «Nissan» is in the hospital— reported in the Sledkom.
Employees of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol immediately left for the scene of the incident to carry out the necessary measures.
At present, the investigator has appointed an auto-technical, ballistic and other examinations in order to establish in detail the circumstances of the incident. The Committee emphasized:
