In the near future, the filling of the North Crimean Canal will begin. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for Water Management of the Republic of Crimea.
The channel is preparing to «restart» after the winter conservation. Water will flow from the Kakhovka reservoir to the territory of Crimea for about 10-14 days.
After filling the canal, specialists will start supplying water to farmers, enterprises and farmers who have applied— reported in the State Committee.
Farmers are waiting for the Dnieper water.
In the Dzhankoy district, it is planned to water over 7,000 hectares of irrigated land with Dnieper water. This was stated by the director of the Dzhankoy branch of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Krymmeliovodkhoz» Sergey Kalinin. He noted the well-coordinated work on the repair of the lining of the North Crimean Canal with an area of 80 square meters. meters. Activities are carried out using special equipment with a rational placement of personnel and operational interaction of all participants in the technological process.
The Dzhankoy branch of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Krymmeliovodkhoz” has already prepared 4.7 km of pipelines (42%) and 121.34 km of irrigation canals (79%) for the irrigation season. The area of preparation is 5.8 thousand hectares (81%)— noted in the State Committee for Water Resources of the Republic of Crimea.
Until April 1, irrigation systems will be prepared for operation in the region to supply water for irrigation of 7.1 thousand hectares. It is planned to use 11 state pumping stations for water supply.
