It was proposed to increase the mortgage payment for families with many children to 550 thousand rubles

It is proposed to increase mortgage repayment payments for large families. Such a bill will be submitted to the State Duma, TASS reports. It is proposed to amend the law “On measures of state support for families with children in terms of repaying obligations on mortgage housing loans.”

Currently, the mortgage payment for large families is 450 thousand rubles. Families in which a third child or subsequent children were born between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2030 can receive the payment. The payment can be used to pay off the principal debt on a home loan or interest on a mortgage.

According to the bill, the amount of the mortgage payment will be at least 550 thousand rubles, but not more than 6.4% of the total amount of the mortgage loan.

This approach will allow us to take into account inflation and rising housing prices, noted one of the authors of the initiative, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Control Committee Dmitry Gusev. The new method of calculating subsidies will help avoid a sharp increase in budget expenses, the deputy believes. Families with small housing loans will receive guaranteed minimum support, and for families with a high mortgage burden, state support will be commensurate with actual loan obligations.
