The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a storm warning about adverse hydrometeorological phenomena in the Crimea on May 18-19.
According to the Crimean Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, on May 18 and 19, an increase in the northeast wind of 17-22 m/s is expected in Crimea. When passing through a complex of dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena, there is a high probability of emergency situations caused by accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, there may be violations of transport communication, difficulty in the movement of vehicles on roads, especially in sections of mountain passesthe message says.
It is emphasized that in such windy weather there is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, weakly reinforced structures, trees and possible breaks in power lines.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea recommends observing the following security measures:
— citizens need to be extra careful not to go out into the mountainous forest area;
— refrain from going to the sea and inland waters;
— do not go to the embankments and bank protection structures;
— when on the street, pay attention to the integrity of overhead power lines, contact networks of electric vehicles and tree branches;
— do not stay or park vehicles near billboards, weakly reinforced structures, power lines and trees;
— drivers of vehicles, if it is impossible to restrict exit, be extremely careful on the road, do not exceed the speed limit and strictly observe the rules of the road.
In case of bad weather, pay special attention to the safety of children and the elderly, be attentive to others.
