A group of deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction proposed reducing from 30 to 10 days the consideration of applications to Roszdravnadzor about violations of the rights of patients with chronic diseases to receive preferential medications and medical products. Such a bill has been submitted to the State Duma. «Parliamentary newspaper» — with details.
A matter of life and death
People suffering from chronic diseases need to constantly take medications that fall into the category of vital and essential medications. For many of them, especially cancer patients, this is a matter of life and death. However, due to the fact that drugs are not purchased in a timely manner, they are not always available in pharmacies or there is a queue for them. Therefore, those who could receive medications free of charge with a doctor’s prescription are forced to purchase them at their own expense.
A group of deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation introduced a bill to the State Duma, which proposes to reduce from 30 to 10 days the consideration of complaints about violations of the rights of patients with chronic diseases to receive preferential medications and medical products. This will allow Roszdravnadzor to respond more quickly to such signals.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation drew attention to the problems associated with the timely provision of medicines; Roszdravnadzor itself recognizes the difficulties with preferential supplies to cancer patients, according to the explanatory note to the bill.
All this “speaks of the extreme demand for improving the situation in this area,” the deputies note.
