May holidays: Russians have 19 working days and 12 days off
Residents of Russia expect only 19 working days in May 2026. This was reported on April 7 TASS with reference to the production calendar.
Also, in the last month of spring, Russians will have 10 days off and two holidays. May 1 (Friday) will be the Spring and Labor Day, and May 9 (Saturday) will be Victory Day. This means that citizens of the Russian Federation will have a vacation from May 1 to May 3, as well as from May 9 to 11.
Due to the fact that May 9 falls on a Saturday, the day off will be Monday, May 11. In addition, May 8 will be a shortened working day. Working hours on Friday before the holiday will be reduced by one hour.
Thus, May will have the fewest working days of the remaining months in 2026.
The most “non-working” month of the year was January. The New Year holidays lasted from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026. As a result, in the first month of 2026, Russians had 15 working days and 16 days off.
