“Mediation in the work of a notary”: Sevastopol notary discussed issues of interaction between a mediator and a notary

On December 19, a meeting of notaries of the city of Sevastopol took place with Elena Galas, a mediator, candidate of legal sciences, lawyer, arbitrator of the RSSP.

Her report discussed questions about an alternative method of resolving disputes through an “independent mediator” and notarial mediation, the procedure for concluding a mediation agreement certified by a notary, which has significant guarantees and the force of an executive document. Such an agreement protects rights, saves time and finances of citizens and legal entities, and facilitates the quick and effective resolution of legal conflicts in pre-trial proceedings through a mediator. During the meeting, a number of other practical issues that arise during the joint work of notaries and mediators were also highlighted— noted in the Notary Chamber of the city of Sevastopol.
