Members of a criminal group convicted in Crimea — they were preparing a contract killing of an entrepreneur

The evidence collected by the Department for the Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol was recognized by the court as sufficient for issuing a guilty verdict on the members of the criminal group — the organizer and his accomplice. Depending on the role of each, they were found guilty of organizing and complicity in the preparation for the murder and illegal possession of explosives.
The investigation and the court established that in the period from November 2021 to January 2022, a resident of Alushta developed a plan to kill the businessman. To do this, he found the perpetrator of the crime, offering a cash reward of 1 million rubles. As an advance, he gave a friend 400 thousand rubles, promising to pay the rest after the implementation of the plan.
However, the crime was not brought to an end due to the suppression of illegal actions by the employees of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the OBOP CID of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea. The accomplices were detained on the territory of the Belogorsk district. Gunpowder was seized during a search of the home of one of the accused during the investigation of the criminal case.— reported in the Investigative Committee.
It is emphasized that evidence was collected confirming the involvement of the accused in the commission of the crime, more than 20 witnesses were interrogated, more than 15 examinations were appointed and conducted.
Today, by a court verdict, the defendants were found guilty of the alleged crimes and sentenced to 8 years 2 months and 6 years 8 months in prison, respectively, which they will serve in a strict regime correctional colony.
