Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea: “Sustainable growth in the flow of tourists is a key indicator of success”
A press conference was held at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Ganzia, at which he summed up the results of the high tourist season of 2025 and spoke about work plans in 2026. The event was organized by the Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea. As the minister noted, by the end of 2025, the Republic of Crimea has confirmed its status as one of the leading resort destinations in the Russian Federation, entering the top five most popular holiday regions, according to tour operators. Also, in 2025, Crimea has traditionally retained its place in the “Golden Five” of leaders in the National Tourism Rating of Regions.
Sustained growth in the flow of tourists is a key indicator of the success achieved. Thus, in 2025, Crimea was visited by 6.9 million tourists, which is 15% more than in 2024. At the same time, 76% of vacationers arrived by car and bus: 61% via the Crimean Bridge and 15% through historical regions. Another 24% of guests took advantage of the train connection. In just 12 years, the Republic of Crimea was visited by about 74 million tourists. Crimea continues to lead in the growth of summer holiday bookings, according to TO estimates the growth is from 10 to 40%, — the minister noted.
Sergei Ganziy also focused on infrastructural changes in the tourism industry. According to him, by 2030, as part of the construction of new sanatorium-resort and tourist facilities, it is planned to open 33 facilities, including 8 sanatoriums. All objects are included in a large-scale program for the development of tourism infrastructure.
Over 12 years, 88 new accommodation facilities with more than 4,000 rooms were opened in the sanatorium-resort complex, 756 were modernized, including in 2025, 39 accommodation facilities were modernized, 9 new accommodation facilities were opened.
Work is actively underway to develop tourism infrastructure, promising types of tourism, and improve the quality of tourism services.
The Register of subjects and objects of the tourism industry of the Republic of Crimea includes 485 tourist routes of various directions. Also in the Register of Tourist Resources of the Republic of Crimea there are 203 objects of tourist (excursion) display.
Since 2014, more than 110 new tourist (excursion) display facilities have been opened, and 34 facilities have undergone modernization.
The active tourism project “Great Crimean Trail” also continues to develop. The trail runs along the coast through 7 municipal districts and 6 urban districts, more than 20 specially protected natural areas and consists of 52 stages with a total length of more than 750 km.
From 2023 to 2025 inclusive, the improvement of 10 stages was carried out (the urban districts of Alushta, Feodosia, Sudak, as well as Belogorsky and Kirovsky districts, Angarsky Pass), the length of the equipped stages was about 240 km. In 2026, it is planned to improve 7 new stages of the trail with a length of about 130 km from Alushta to Bakhchisarai.
Within the framework of the National Project “Tourism and Hospitality”, the implementation of regional strategies aimed at supporting projects for the improvement of tourist centers of historical cities continues. In 2025, projects for the comprehensive arrangement of tourist codes in the centers of the cities of Alupka, Evpatoria, Feodosia and the city of Saki were completed. The total improvement area was 74.8 hectares. In 2026, it is planned to implement the second stage of the comprehensive development of the city of Saki.
As part of the federal project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality” in the Saki-Evpatoria region, work is underway to create a federal year-round seaside resort “Golden Sands of Russia” with a total area of about 226.1 hectares. It is planned to create 21 hotels of 3, 4, 5 stars with a total capacity of 9,727 rooms. The volume of private investment will amount to more than 130 billion rubles. More than 8,289 thousand jobs will be created. The additional tourist flow will amount to more than 1.3 million tourists annually.
In general, today the share of the tourism industry in the gross regional product of the republic reaches 5.8% — this is the seventh place among the regions of Russia.
In 2026, as part of the Year of Crimean Hospitality, a set of events is planned to be implemented that cover a wide range of areas and will ensure the involvement of various audiences in the implementation of the project — guests of the peninsula, the business community and local residents. Festivals, filming of television programs on federal television channels, and Days of Crimean Hospitality in Russian regions will be held, which will help achieve significant success in promoting and popularizing the region.
