More than 31 million cubic meters of water will be used to irrigate farmland in Crimea
The heavy rainfall that has fallen in Crimea since the beginning of 2026 has made it possible to direct significant volumes of water to irrigate agricultural land. The Head of the Republic of Crimea announced this. As Sergei Aksyonov clarified, the irrigation plan includes more than 21 thousand hectares of irrigated areas.
The planned volume of water supply is 31.4 million cubic meters. At the same time, drip irrigation will be used on 66% of the areas. For irrigation, both reservoir resources and local water resources, such as regulated river flow, ponds and wells, are used.– shared the Head of the Republic.
Sergei Aksyonov also noted that state support for agricultural producers aimed at developing the republic’s reclamation complex amounted to more than 2 billion rubles from 2015 to 2025, which made it possible to put into operation a total of about 30 thousand hectares of irrigated land and abandoned agricultural land through hydro-reclamation, cultural-technical and agro-forestry measures.
This year, state support will amount to 227.7 million rubles. Sergei Aksenov added that it is planned to increase the area of irrigated land by almost 864 hectares and put into operation more than 1.7 thousand hectares of abandoned agricultural land.
