New Year's Eve and the first days of 2023 passed in Crimea without emergencies, but with fires

Over the past holidays from January 1 to January 2, 13 fires were registered in Crimea, there were no victims. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, all cases occurred in the residential sector — in private and multi-apartment buildings. The main causes of fires were violation of fire safety rules when using electrical equipment, as well as due to careless handling of fire when smoking. Fires due to violation of the rules for the use of pyrotechnics were not registered.

In 2022 year, the forces and means of the territorial fire and rescue garrison of the Republic of Crimea were involved in extinguishing almost 2800 fires. Thanks to the professionalism and selfless work of firefighters, more than 90 human lives were saved, and a decrease in the number of dead and injured people was also noted as a positive trend , the emergency department recalled.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea draws the attention of guests and residents of the peninsula to the need to comply with fire safety measures:

— do not leave heating stoves unattended,

— the same applies to electrical equipment connected to the mains — garlands must be turned off at night,

— pyrotechnic products must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
