CrimeaPRESS reports:
Isn’t the sentence too lenient?
In Crimea, the Saksky District Court, based on the verdict of a jury, delivered a verdict in a criminal case against two local residents. It’s hard to call them human.
Based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, one of them was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph «g» part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder committed by a group of persons), part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberate destruction and damage to someone else’s property, committed by arson, resulting in the death of a person through negligence), another — part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph «g» part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder committed by a group of persons)— reported in the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
It was established that the convicts, in the course of a conflict that suddenly arose against the background of the joint use of alcoholic beverages, began to beat the victim, in whose house they were.
They stopped beating when they thought that the man had died. After that, one of the convicts set fire to the house in which the victim remained unconscious. The man died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning, the examination found.
For these crimes, the perpetrators were sentenced to 8 and 6 years in prison, respectively, with imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony. The verdict did not enter into force.
