The Government Commission for the Control of Foreign Investments in the Russian Federation allowed non-residents of the Russian Federation to register real estate acquired under a gratuitous transaction between spouses or close relatives, the list of which is determined by the Family Code of the Russian Federation. According to the Family Code of the Russian Federation, close relatives are considered to be parents and children, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandchildren, as well as full and half brothers and sisters.
