North Crimean Canal: the cost of Dnieper water for irrigation of farmland will be lower than the average in the Southern Federal District

Sergei Aksyonov specified that the North Crimean Canal is currently being serviced, including the cleaning of canals, the repair of hydraulic structures, pumping and power equipment and pipelines.

Particular attention is paid to anti-flood measures. It was possible to reduce the speed of water movement and, accordingly, its level. So there is no risk of flooding of the territories adjacent to the canal. At the moment, the reservoirs are being filled and the main canal is being filled up to the blocking structure in the Krasnoperekopsky district— explained the Head of the Republic.

In addition, applications are now being collected from Crimean farmers who plan to water their farmland this season.

The cost of Dnieper water for irrigation will be lower than the average compared to other regions of the Southern Federal District— notes the Head of the Crimea.

According to Sergei Aksyonov, all the work done will ensure a stable irrigation season this year.

REFERENCE. Thanks to the decision of the President to conduct a special military operation and the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, in the spring of 2022, the dam blocking the North Crimean Canal was destroyed.
