Then he was thrown ashore and, after his miraculous salvation, went to Nineveh.
- As for the martyr Foki, he is considered the patron of the drowning and the defender from fires. According to legend, he was born in Sinop and led a virtuous life. He became a bishop in the mature years and preached Christianity, due to which, many pagans managed to turn into faith. He suffered during the persecution organized by Emperor Trajan, who forced Foku to renounce his beliefs.
