Officially: in Sevastopol, the quality of drinking water meets the standards

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Drinking water in Sevastopol goes through several stages of purification, indicators are controlled by laboratory at each stage. Raw water from water supply sources is pumped by pumping stations to the city’s main treatment facilities. Before the water reaches the consumer, it undergoes a thorough analysis, purification and special preparation. The technology allows you to fully control the purity of water, as well as the content of other impurities in it.

Water coming from the Chernaya River enters the treatment plant, where it goes through all stages of purification — disinfection and bleaching. In filter stations, water passes through quartz sand, entering clean water tanks after secondary disinfection. We supply this water to city water supply units , — quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, the head of the water treatment facilities of Vodokanal, Alexander Levchenko.

The measuring chemical and bacteriological laboratory controls the quality of water in accordance with the work program approved by Rospotrebnadzor. It establishes the mode and range of indicators for monitoring the quality of water supplied to the consumer. Water quality in all districts of Sevastopol meets the requirements of SanPiN.

Before the consumer receives the water, it goes through a series of purification stages. Our laboratory monitors indicators around the clock at all stages of water treatment. Some tests are taken every two hours, others every hour. In particular, water sampling for the determination of residual chlorine is carried out every hour so that this indicator does not exceed the permissible concentration , — says Irina Kutsyuruba, head of the Vodokanal laboratory.

Specialists control the quality by checking water for chemical, organoleptic and microbiological indicators not only at the outlet of water treatment plants, but also in the distribution network throughout the city.
