On May 9, the scarlet Banner of Victory will be hoisted on the mountain peaks of Crimea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On May 9, KRYM-SPAS rescuers will traditionally raise the Victory Banner on the «teeth» of Ai-Petri. This was announced by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Sadakliev. According to him, the action is held annually, regardless of weather conditions, in compliance with all precautions.

This action was started many years ago by the employees of the KSS of Crimea: Rescuers of the Control and Rescue Service of Crimea, for more than 40 years, on May 9, at exactly 10:00, hoisted a copy of the assault flag of the 150th Order of Kutuzov II degree of the Idritsa Rifle Division at an altitude of 1234 meters . After the annexation of Crimea to Russia, this tradition was continued by the rescuers of KRYM-SPAS, who to this day carry the Banner to the top with honorthe minister noted.

During the war years, there was a case when partisans raised the Red Banner on the top of Ai-Petri. The Nazis, not having special skills and capabilities, could not remove it and simply shot it with weapons. Subsequently, from this fact, a tradition was born — on Victory Day, annually hoist the «Victory Banner», precisely on the so-called «teeth», where you can climb only with climbing equipment.

The raising of the Banner of Victory in the morning of May 9 will be carried out by the rescuers of the Yalta emergency rescue team of the GKU RK «CRIMEA-SPAS».
