On November 7, a magnetic storm will cover the Earth. The strongest this year — experts
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Earth is about to experience the strongest geomagnetic storm of the year. According to scientists, it will be one of the most powerful in the last few years and will occur on Friday, November 7. This was reported by employees of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On Thursday, the laboratory reported that according to forecasts, there will be a strong storm until noon on Thursday — storms expected level G3, then, until midnight, a long period of geomagnetic disturbances with periodic magnetic storms of weak and medium levels will continue. At the same time, the graphs show that the peak of the disturbance will occur on Friday, November 7th.
On Friday, November 7, the Earth will experience the strongest geomagnetic storm of the year and one of the strongest in the last few years. The model of plasma movement is very similar to what preceded the magnetic storm of the highest level G5 on May 11-12 last year, when several emissions simultaneously arrived at the Earth, gathering along the way into a single structure of record sizesthe message says.
The existing forecast does not yet take into account the last strongest emission, which occurred last night; within 24 hours the graphs will be recalculated in the direction of intensification, the laboratory clarified.
But even now, in a weakened form (not taking into account the overnight release), the forecast shows that strong and very strong storms of the G3-G4 level will occur on Friday. When recalculated during the day, this range is likely to move into the G4-G5 interval, scientists warn.
