The number of inspection points on the Crimean bridge, which is open to traffic on both sides for cars and buses, is planned to be increased by the start of the active tourist season. This was reported Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Crimea Nikolay Lukashenko.
Monitoring is carried out daily on the structure of traffic flows in order to make some decisions in terms of optimizing the inspection activities that are carried out on 100% of vehicles, — he said. — In any case, closer to the beginning of the holiday season, and this is the end of April — May, June-July, decisions will be made — perhaps additional measures related to increasing the throughput of inspection points.
According to him, the capacity of the bridge has increased with the opening of traffic on the left side — now the traffic flows to Crimea and in the opposite direction are separated, inspection procedures are faster, which reduces the likelihood of traffic jams.
In addition, according to Lukashenka, the possibility of launching the movement of empty trucks along the Crimean bridge is currently being considered at the federal level.
There is a commission headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin… We are waiting for the results of the consideration— he specified, adding that the movement of the remaining trucks will be carried out through a ferry crossing and a land route through new regions of the Russian Federation until further notice.
The Deputy Minister also noted that it would be expedient to maintain the operation of the ferry crossing even after the full restoration of transport along the Crimean bridge.
I think it is strategically necessary to leave the ferries. The issue will be resolved at the highest level, but the feasibility of the operation of the crossing, of course, exists.Lukashenka said.
