From March 3 to March 12, on the roads of Simferopol, employees of the State traffic inspectorate are carrying out a preventive measure under the code name «Oncoming lane».
One of the main causes of road accidents with serious consequences is the departure of drivers of vehicles into the oncoming lane. When overtaking, it is very important to choose the right section of the road that will allow you to safely perform this maneuver. Before overtaking, the driver must make sure that the lane he is going to enter is free at a distance sufficient for overtaking and that the driver will not endanger other road users in the course of overtaking.— noted in the State traffic inspectorate.
The traffic police recalls that liability for violations in accordance with Art. 12.15 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation:
— Part 4 «Departure in violation of the Rules of the Road on a lane intended for oncoming traffic, or on tram tracks in the opposite direction, with the exception of cases provided for by Part 3 of this Article» — the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 4 to 6 months.
— part 5 “Repeated commission of an administrative offense provided for in paragraph 4 of this article deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 1 year, and in case of fixing an administrative offense by special technical means operating in automatic mode, having the functions of photography and filming, video recording, or means photography and filming, video recordings” – the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of 5,000 rubles.
