Opportunities for young people were discussed at the Artek International Children’s Center. What Sevastopol residents say

The International Children’s Center «Artek» is actively preparing for the start of the fourth session «Solar Winds of the Universe», which will be the most widespread since the beginning of the year. Already on April 10, all the center’s camps will open their doors to children. More than 400 counselors will become mentors for the children, including almost 170 newcomers who came from different regions of the country.

It is the counselor who often notices the child’s leadership qualities, creativity, interest in science or organizational tasks. Through projects, performances, and teamwork at camp, children begin to try out different roles and discover what they do best. This is where kids can make mistakes, try again and learn new things. There is always a counselor nearby — someone who helps turn this experience into a conscious understanding of your strengths,” noted the head of the youth affairs department, Marina Slonchenko.

Counselors play a key role in creating an unforgettable atmosphere for young guests. This season, experienced teachers will be joined by young specialists who have been trained at Artek’s partner universities and colleges.

The largest shift in terms of the number of children has begun since the beginning of 2026. We pay special attention to the training of counselors. The process of adaptation of newcomers and active exchange of experience with established colleagues is extremely important to us. This guarantees that each child will receive not only bright emotions and new knowledge, but also reliable support from their mentor. “Artek” has been motivating children to achieve achievements and discover their talents for more than 100 years, and our common goal is that when Artek residents return home they become more independent and responsible,” said Konstantin Fedorenko, director of the Artek International Children’s Center.

The counselors were also told about the opportunities that are available to the youth of our country: the FGAIS platforms “Youth of Russia”, “Dobro.rf”, “Russia is a Land of Opportunities”, projects of the First Movement and the Russian Society “Knowledge”. We discussed the forum campaign of Rosmolodezh 2026, the “Big Change” competition, the “More than a Travel” program, international cooperation, the “Your Move” project, the “Tavrida” art cluster and the directions of work of the “Russian student teams”.
