CrimeaPRESS reports:
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol notes that they are concerned about the increased cases of traffic accidents involving children, including minors that occurred through their own negligence, as well as in courtyard areas. So:
- The first case occurred on Tuesday with a 10-year-old pedestrian who crossed the carriageway at in the wrong place in the zone of visibility of a pedestrian crossing and got under the wheels of a car. As a result of an accident, the boy was taken to a medical facility.
- On Friday, two minor passengers who were in one of the vehicles were injured in a collision between two cars. The victims were children aged 9 and 13 years old, who were in the back seat of the car during the movement and were not wearing seat belts. Having received injuries, the young passengers were hospitalized.
- On Saturday, near General Ostryakov Avenue in the yard, a car hit a 3-year-old child. The cause of the accident was the sudden exit of a minor onto the roadway due to a parked car. The boy abruptly ran from the playground to his father, who, at that time, was near the entrance across the road. Having received injuries of varying severity, the child was hospitalized in a children’s hospital.
The State Traffic Inspectorate warns that due to the onset of summer holidays, more and more children spend time outdoors, so parents should daily remind minors of the rules of the road and the importance of own safety on the road, as well as warn that the vehicle cannot stop instantly, which means it is very dangerous to enter the roadway in front of nearby traffic.
Since the beginning of the current year children have violated certain rules of the road and became participants in road accidents due to their own negligence. The main violations by children are crossing the carriageway in the wrong place and suddenly exiting onto the carriageway due to objects that restrict visibility.
