On May 5, in the Crimea, on the territory of the Memorial Complex to the Victims of the Fascist Occupation «Krasny Concentration Camp», the annual patriotic action «Light a Candle of Memory» was held.
The action was attended by Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, representatives of the Republican Council of Ministers, various ministries and departments, heads of public organizations, schoolchildren and cadets, military and rescuers.
Tribute to the memory of all the tortured, shot and burned, thrown alive into the wells of death, ordinary civilians, prisoners of war and soldiers who spent the last days of their lives within the walls of the Krasny concentration camp was paid a triple blow to the Memorial Bell.
The procession participants passed through the memorable places of the memorial complex: the Church of All Saints in the land of the Crimean shone, «Stone Chaos», the well of death, the mass grave. At the Wall of Sorrow, those present laid lighted lamps on a pedestal and honored the memory with a minute of silence for all those killed in the concentration camps of World War II.
Recall that the concentration camp near the state farm «Red» was the largest Nazi concentration camp in the Crimea. During the occupation of the peninsula, in 1941-1944, over 15 thousand people were killed on the territory of the concentration camp, including prisoners of war, underground partisans, as well as numerous civilians, including women and children.
