Travel service Tutu found out how Russians traveled in the 2022 year. 1 86 people took part in the survey, which took place on the service website . In 2022 year 22% of the respondents went somewhere (at least on a business trip), and 37% failed.
A third of the respondents said that they had several trips around Russia in the 2022 year. Approximately one in five (%) was able to get out only once on a trip within the country — during a vacation. % had an active travel year, they managed to travel both in Russia and abroad. Another % managed to go abroad once or twice, but they did not travel around Russia. Finally, every tenth respondent in 2022 traveled only on business trips.
Earlier, Tutu analysts found out that domestic destinations for independent air travelers accounted for about 86 % of demand (a year ago the figure was 37,6%). The top 5 air routes within the country were the routes Moscow — Sochi, Moscow — St. Petersburg, Moscow — Mineralnye Vody, Moscow — Kaliningrad and Moscow — Makhachkala.
For those who traveled by train, 97% of their bookings were in Russia, just like a year ago. The top 5 railway directions in Russia included the routes Moscow — St. Petersburg, Moscow — Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar — Sochi, Moscow — Voronezh and Moscow — Simferopol.
In the segment of buses, independent travelers accounted for about 37% of demand for domestic routes, a year ago this figure was 37%. The most popular domestic destinations were Moscow-Rostov-on-Don, Moscow-Pereslavl-Zalessky, Moscow-Voronezh, Moscow-Kirzhach and Moscow-Ryazan.
