Precipitation in Crimea filled the peninsula’s reservoirs
As a result of heavy rainfall since the beginning of 2026, Crimean reservoirs have been significantly replenished. Since January 1, the increase in water in our reservoirs has amounted to more than 62 million cubic meters. The total volume of water resources in the republic is about 175 million cubic meters. This reserve will be enough for approximately 14 months, provided there is a complete absence of influx— Konstantinov informed.
The regional authorities are closely monitoring the situation with the peninsula’s water resources and, if necessary, are ready to make timely decisions, he assured.
Previously, the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko, also reportedthat the heavy rainfall that fell on the South Coast significantly replenished the reserves of the reservoirs feeding the region.
At the end of December, the head of the department of chemical technologies and water use of the Institute of Biochemical Technologies, Ecology and Pharmacy, KFU, Doctor of Technical Sciences Ilya Nikolenko and the director of the research and production company “Water Technologies” Anatoly Kopachevsky spoke on the radio «Sputnik in Crimea»that to recharge Simferopol, as well as Western Crimea, it is necessary to build additional reservoirs natural flow.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, reported that Crimea will begin construction of two new reservoirs at the beginning of 2026. These are the Martovskoye (5.5 million cubic meters) and Solnechnogorskoye (8.5 million cubic meters) reservoirs on the southern coast of Crimea. The amount of financing is 22.4 billion rubles.
