Preparation of a terrorist attack with an explosion: the criminal case of two Crimean residents went to court

Two Crimean residents will be held accountable for preparing terrorist attacks on the peninsula at the direction of Ukraine; the criminal case has gone to court. The prosecutor’s office of the republic reports this. According to the supervisory authority, one of the accused in the summer of 2024 came into contact with a representative of the main intelligence department of Ukraine.

He informed him of his readiness to assist in activities against the interests of the Russian Federation. He involved a second accused in committing crimes, who is an opponent of the special military operationthe message says.

At the direction of their curators, residents of Crimea removed from their hiding places a homemade explosive device based on hexogen and an electric detonator.

Having identified four targets for possible terrorist attacks, they carried out reconnaissance of the area, selecting available routes for a covert approach, places to place explosive devices and shelter from unauthorized personsthe prosecutor’s office added.

However, the attackers failed to implement their criminal plan; they were detained by employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

Now the criminal case has been sent to the Southern District Military Court.

Previously, the Southern District Military Court sentenced to 5 years and 6 months for a man who, while in Sevastopol, through social networks called for strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition, the man posted messages justifying terrorist actions.
