Prices in Sevastopol: sunflower oil, milk, cereals and pasta have not risen in price
Based on the results of weekly monitoring of the cost of food in the city’s retail chains, over the past week, a decrease in prices for salt, polished rice, pasta, sunflower oil and milk with a fat content of 2.5–3.2% has been recorded.
At the same time, a slight increase in prices for pork, chicken, cucumbers and “borscht set” was recorded.
According to the head of the consumer market department of the department, Ksenia Kazandzhieva, the increase in prices for meat products is associated with fluctuations in production volumes and the current supply on the market. The increase in the cost of vegetables included in the “borscht set” is due to the seasonality factor. It is expected that the new harvest vegetables will be available for sale in late May — early June. As supply increases and competition intensifies, prices will stabilize.
The rise in prices for cucumbers and tomatoes is also associated with fluctuations in harvest volumes.
There is no rush of consumer activity, shortages or “washing out” of goods from shelves. The city’s consumer market is saturated with products in the required volume.
Let us remind you that in order to curb the rise in food costs and stabilize pricing in Sevastopol, the mechanism of agreements with retail chains continues to operate. These are 10 network trade enterprises that unite 123 objects. The total list of goods covered by the agreement is 46 items.
According to the agreement, retailers voluntarily set a minimum trade markup for socially significant goods in the amount of 0 to 15%.
Monitoring of compliance with conditions is carried out on a weekly basis. Department employees conduct on-site raids on retail outlets and monitor prices, checking compliance with agreements and protecting the interests of consumers.
