Puppet theater in Simferopol — when will it be completed?

The ministry said that heating and ventilation systems, a profile system of stained glass windows, stained glass and door slopes are now being installed at the facility, decorative finishing of walls, grate stairs and suspended ceiling frames is being carried out, and door blocks are also being installed.

Construction of the Crimean State Center for Children’s Theater Arts began in 2018 using funds from the federal target program for the socio-economic development of Crimea. It is being built on the site of a demolished emergency puppet theater building.

Initially, Meander LLC from St. Petersburg received a contract worth more than 1 billion rubles. It was planned to put the center into operation in December 2019.

In July 2021, Arina Novoselskaya, who at that time held the position of Minister of Culture of Crimea, stated that it was necessary to adjust the design estimates and complete construction. And in November she came under investigation — she was charged with taking a bribe.

According to the investigation, the official received 25 million rubles from Meander for patronage during the construction of a children’s theater arts center. In July 2023, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow sentenced Novoselskaya to 10 years in prison.

In September 2023, a contractor was identified to complete the construction of the Children’s Theater Center in Simferopol. The corresponding order of the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov was posted on the portal of the government of the republic. According to the document, the contract price was 928.2 million rubles.

Construction of the Crimean State Center for Children’s Theater Arts in Simferopol was resumed at the end of 2024.
