Residents of the Simferopol zoo are being prepared for winter

Winter is approaching and the inhabitants of the zoo corner in Simferopol are beginning to prepare for the cold season.

Heat-loving animals were moved to warm winter enclosures. Animals accustomed to sub-zero temperatures will remain in their original places. At the same time, they have constant access to covered, warm houses. During the cold season, they will be given an additional layer of bedding. In winter, animals and birds increase their diet in order to maintain their strength and strengthen their immunity, because more energy is spent on heating in cold weather. The proportion of hay, bran, and oats in the diet of ungulates increases, and they are given more vegetables and fruits.
