Road services have treated difficult sections of Crimean highways in case of snowfalls
Due to worsening weather conditions, Crimean road services treated ups and downs, bridges and overpasses to prevent the formation of ice and ensure safe traffic movement. This was reported by the press service of the Krymavtodor enterprise.
Over the past weekend, road workers worked in intensive mode. More than 70 people and 53 units of specialized equipment were on duty. Preventive treatment of the roadway was carried out in areas with potentially difficult road conditions — ascents, descents, turns, bridges and overpasses, — the message says.
Due to deteriorating weather, all branches of Krymavtodor have organized round-the-clock winter duty. Specialists monitor the condition of the road surface on the roads of the peninsula and are ready to quickly respond to any weather changes, the press service added.
December 13 municipal services of Simferopol went into high alert mode due to a sharp drop in temperature. According to the head of the city administration, Mikhail Afanasyev, 935 tons have already been prepared for winter in the Crimean capital de-icing materials. Specialists also converted 14 combined road machines and six tractors.
Earlier it was reported that the Crimean road services had completely completed preparation for work in the autumn-winter period. To ensure road safety in conditions of possible snowfall and ice, 24-hour duty crews have been organized, including night shifts.
