Russians are now more likely to buy mortgaged apartments
In VTB’s specialized service, the number of such transactions in the real estate segment increased by 50%, and sales volume increased by 44%. The average purchase price for mortgaged apartments was 5.3 million rubles. Over the year, it increased by 3%, a bank representative said. The number of transactions for the sale of collateral cars in the VTB service has tripled compared to the first quarter of 2025.
The collateral is initially put up for auction. If a buyer is not found, banks sell these assets through marketplaces or their own online resources. Collateral property is sold at a reduced price due to encumbrances and imperfect condition. Since the seller is a large bank, this builds buyer confidence and reduces the risk of legal problems and fraud.
