Sergey Aksyonov: “Crimeans remain faithful to Russia and their duty”
Among other things, Sergei Aksyonov focused on the topics of supporting President Vladimir Putin and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, ensuring the safety of the population, and further socio-economic development of the republic. According to him, today all global strategic issues have been resolved in the Republic of Crimea, including those related to security, electricity supply, and logistics.
Now we need to solve a number of small issues from the point of view of the state, but very important for every citizen. First of all, of course, we are talking about improving the quality and standard of living. Communications, infrastructure, streets and courtyards require further modernization. This is precisely what authorities at all levels are currently focusing their efforts on.said the Head of the Republic.
Answering a question about the mood and attitude of Crimeans towards Victory in a special military operation, Sergei Aksyonov noted the strategically important role of Crimea for the entire country. According to the Head of the Republic, the region has always attracted everyone’s attention, and after 2014 these processes only intensified.
The return of Crimea was a fixed idea among Ukrainian and Western politicians; it was heard in every interview, on the air of every Ukrainian TV channel. But the Crimeans were faithful to their historical homeland even before 2014, and now they remain faithful to Russia, faithful to their duty. And today it is the duty of every citizen to support military personnel, and there is no need to push any Crimeans in this matter. We are driven by patriotism and a sense of high responsibility to the country, to President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Therefore, it is not surprising that such a large number of Crimeans decided to join the ranks of the Bars-Crimea units. Volunteers carry out tasks assigned by the Russian Ministry of Defense, both on the territory of the republic and abroad. I would like to express my gratitude to all residents of the republic for their concern and clear civic position. So — we will win! – the Head of Crimea thanked.
During the interview, Sergei Aksenov also emphasized the systematic development of the tourism sector in Crimea, which continues despite difficult circumstances. Thus, the Head of the Republic noted the growing demand not only for summer, but also for winter holidays.
Every year, more and more accommodation facilities create conditions for people to come in the winter, celebrate the New Year holidays or for recreation. In general, the tourism industry is showing good growth rates. Hoteliers are increasing the level of comfort and quality of service. The authorities work closely with tour operators and hotel owners. Everything is aimed at attracting tourists. And, I must say, people notice this work. From year to year, the tourist flow to Crimea is growing by an average of 15–20%, – shared the Head of the Republic.
Sergey Aksyonov also reported on ongoing work to increase the capacity of the Crimean Bridge during the high season.
There are currently no queues on the bridge; the logistics issue is completely closed at this stage. However, in the summer, when most of the guests travel, the waiting time may increase. This happens primarily due to security requirements. Together with the Federal Government, we are developing options, discussing various tools and mechanisms, and once again exploring the possibility of organizing additional checkpoints in order to reduce waiting times. We do everything to make tourists feel comfortable. At the same time, I remind motorists that Crimea can also be reached through our historical regions“, concluded the Head of the Republic.
