Sergey Aksyonov: “Our athletes defended the prestige of the Crimean boxing school at the European Junior Championships”

The competition took place in Yerevan from November 1 to 10. Members of the Russian national sports team, Crimeans Kirill Lukyanov and Ruslan Shikhmambetov, won gold among juniors 17–18 years old, and Yuri Avetyan – among juniors 19–22 years old.

According to Sergei Aksenov, boxers defended the prestige of Crimean sport at the highest level.

The guys are practically a brand of the Crimean boxing school. At the past competitions, they showed their best character traits, fortitude and will to win, and demonstrated true skill. Of course, this became possible not without the participation of wonderful coaches who put their souls into their work, not without the support of parents who devote themselves to raising their children. For its part, the Government of the Republic will continue to support athletes and create all the necessary conditions for the development of sports in Crimeasaid the Head of the Republic.

For significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports in the Republic of Crimea, high professional excellence and other special services to the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov presented athletes and coaches Islyam Nafeev and Vilen Seytosmanov with Certificates of Honor from the Head of the Republic of Crimea.

In turn, First Deputy President of the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Crimea, General Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Sports Training Center for National Teams of the Republic of Crimea”, Master of Sports of the USSR, Honored Boxing Trainer Alexander Shpirny noted the symbolism of the participation of Crimeans in the tournament during the celebration of National Unity Day in Russia.

For the holiday, the guys presented a real gift to the whole of Crimea. Ruslan Shikhmambetov is a Crimean Tatar, Kirill Lukyanov is Russian, Yuri Avetyan is Armenian. In our multinational unity we are invincible. I am confident that this unity will lead us to new victoriessaid the first deputy president of the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Crimea.
