Sergey Aksyonov: “The creation of the Crimean people’s militia in 2014 was a feat of thousands of people”

The creation of the Crimean people’s militia on February 23, 2014 became an important milestone in the history of our peninsula. Its formation began during a rally dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, which took place during the Crimean Spring near the building of the parliament of the republic in Simferopol.

It was a real patriotic impulse, a civil feat of thousands of people who came out to defend their native land, freedom and justice and defended their right to return home to Russia.

People of different ages and nationalities, belonging to different social strata, joined the ranks of the militia: youth and pensioners, workers, office workers, teachers, doctors, businessmen.

Today, among the fighters of the “Bars-Crimea” detachment and the volunteers helping the front and our soldiers, there are many members of the people’s militia. They are the heirs of the militias of all times, who in practice prove their love for the Motherland and readiness to defend it.says the commentary of the Head of Crimea.
