From to July 2022 on the basis of the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after A .O. Kovalevsky RAS in Sevastopol for the first time will host the Marine Youth Biological School of the Russian Geographical Society. The event will bring together young scientists from all over Russia: oceanologists, biogeographers, geomorphologists, landscape scientists, marine biologists, zoologists, microbiologists, ecologists, etc. Until July 1, young specialists aged 18-35 years old can apply for participation in the Marine Youth Biological School of the Russian Geographical Society:
The program of the event includes: theoretical and practical classes on the study of biodiversity, conservation and rational use of marine biological resources; organization of monitoring and operational control of the state of the environment, the functioning of ecosystems under the conditions of anthropogenic impact; development of marine biotechnologies; planning and conducting molecular genetic studies of aquatic organisms.
The project is being implemented with the grant support of the Russian Geographical Society.
The Marine Youth Biological School of the Russian Geographical Society will be a landmark event for the development of scientific youth cooperation in the field of studying marine ecology and the functioning of ecosystems, communities, physiological and adaptation studies of marine organisms; biodiversity of the coastal zone of the sea and deep water areas; molecular genetic and cytological studies of marine organisms,” notes the project organizer, head of the Youth Club of the Crimean branch of the Russian Geographical Society Alexandra Nikiforova.
The organizers are the Youth Club of the Crimean branch of the Russian Geographical Society together with the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after A.O. Kovalevsky RAS in Sevastopol.
