Sevastopol athletes won 330 medals in 2025

In 2025, systematic work was carried out in Sevastopol to develop elite sports, mass sports and sports infrastructure. This year, 270 city competitions were held in Sevastopol, including 8 all-Russian and 9 interregional. The largest of them were the All-Russian competitions in army hand-to-hand combat, sambo and judo tournaments, the Southern Federal District championship in acrobatic rock and roll, Russian cups in arm wrestling and mountaineering.

Sevastopol residents received new sports titles: three new masters of sports of Russia of international class, 31 masters of sports of Russia, 282 candidates for master of sports. And another 783 people received the first category and 2,189 received mass sports categories. The athletes also won 330 medals at international and all-Russian official competitions. For the first time, the Sevastopol football club became the winner of the LEON-Russian Football Championship among teams of the Second League (Division B).

The “Sports in Every Yard” project covered 12 indoor sports grounds, six open-type sports and recreation complexes and a physical center. Over the course of the year, more than 5,900 classes were held, with approximately 55,000 people participating.

The “Swimming for Everyone” and “Goldfish” projects have been expanded, including for children of participants in a special military operation. The citywide exercise “Happy Morning” continued its work, which in 2025 took place in 12 locations and attracted more than 26,000 participants.

New initiatives have been launched — the “Cyber Grandmother” campaign for residents over 50 years of age as part of the “Sports in Every Yard” project and the “Fitness Lady” project for women over 40 years of age.

One of the largest events in mass sports was the Festival of Culture and Sports of the South of Russia, the volleyball tournament “City Heroes Cup” and the interregional swimming competition “Defenders of the Fatherland Cup” for the prizes of the Honored Master of Sports Andrei Arbuzov.

The renovation of city sports facilities continues to make it comfortable for both professionals and amateurs to practice. This year:

launched a complex of open areas based on the sports complex on Taras Shevchenko Street;
an ice skating rink is being built at the intersection of General Melnik Street and Laboratory Highway;
began renovation of Olympic reserve sports schools No. 2 and No. 8.
