Sevastopol: construction of a kindergarten for 260 children has been completed on Vakulenchuka Street
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol, the construction of a new kindergarten for 260 children on Vakulenchuka Street has been completed. The project is being implemented within the framework of the state program for the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol.
The facility, designed for children from 1.5 to 7 years old, will become the building of the State Budgetary Institution “Center for Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical and Social Assistance” and will be focused on inclusive preschool education, including children with disabilities.
The construction readiness of the kindergarten today is 99%. The final stages are being completed: furniture arrangement, installation of technological equipment, commissioning and landscaping, including landscaping and setting up an automatic watering system. In the near future, builders will begin commissioning work, and the final handover of the facility is planned for December this year– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Tsushko, a leading specialist in the production and technical department of the State Public Institution GS “EDKS”.
The two-story building with a total area of 5,300 square meters includes 12 group rooms, a medical unit, spacious music and physical education rooms, offices for a speech therapist, a psychologist and a methodologist, a dining room, a laundry room with washing and ironing facilities, a full-service catering unit, as well as universal bathrooms accessible for children in wheelchairs.
The building is constructed of monolithic reinforced concrete, the internal walls are finished with fire-resistant glass-magnesite panels. The windows are equipped with double-glazed windows with class K7 blast wave protection. The building has an access control and management system, a powerful smoke protection system and six fireproof zones — three on each floor. These areas are equipped with a smoke extraction system and are designed to provide temporary shelter for children and staff with limited mobility until rescuers arrive. The building also has elevators for people with limited mobility and a lift for transporting prepared food between floors— said Sergei Khramov, Deputy General Director for Construction of SU-82 LLC.
All 12 groups will be equipped with adapted equipment in accordance with federal requirements: tactile books, speech, hearing, vision and musculoskeletal correction devices. For each age group, appropriate furniture is provided: for the nursery group — cribs with sides, for the younger group — bunk beds, and for preparatory groups — single beds.
In the surrounding area there are 12 separate playgrounds, a football field with synthetic turf, recreation areas and safe paths for movement.
Let us remind you that in 2025, the city also completed major renovations of kindergartens No. 13 (Shelkovichnaya St.) and No. 27 (Khruleva St.), as well as the construction of the building of kindergarten No. 89 (Vakulenchuka St.).
All these measures are aimed at increasing the accessibility and quality of preschool education in the region.
