Sevastopol: from 2026, the provision of a regional social supplement to pensions will be simplified

From January 1, 2026, the regional social supplement to pensions will be carried out by the territorial body of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation for the city of Sevastopol, which is the main source of material support for non-working pensioners. Pensioners will not have to write applications or provide documents; the Social Fund will calculate the amount itself. The money will come with your pension.

Now in regions where the cost of living is lower than the federal one, the Social Fund transfers the additional payment. But if it is higher than the federal one, as established in Sevastopol, then the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population is responsible for the payment, and the money does not come along with the pension, but as a separate payment. That is, first the citizen received a pension and only then a regional social supplement to the pension. This was extremely inconvenient for pensioners; starting from 2026, payments will arrive on the same day as their pension.
