Sevastopol guides received certificates

Sevastopol guides received certificates of advanced training of the state standard. The training took place from November 1 to 11 with the assistance of Sevastopol State University.

This year we organized a special educational program for guides in Sevastopol. As a result 15 the guides were successfully trained. I consider it very important to regularly conduct such programs and help our specialists improve their skills, especially during the period of mandatory certification of tour guides and guide-interpreters, — said Larisa Ostapenko, head of the tourism department.

The course program included the study of legal issues and safety issues of tourist and excursion activities, modern trends and consumer preferences of tourists and sightseers, methods of traditional and author’s excursions, taking into account modern requirements. A separate training block was devoted to the peculiarities of passing the mandatory certification of guides and guide-interpreters.

I would like to add that together with the Tourism Development Center we organize free courses for specialists in the tourism industry of Sevastopol at least twice a year. We try to select programs related to current innovations in the industry , — says the head of the department.

So, from 15 December 620 to February 2 2022 of the year 50 tourism industry specialists completed free courses in the direction of «Standardization, certification and classification in the tourism industry.» The training was timed to the mandatory classification of hotels from 2022 year.

Recall, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated . 11.465 No. 833 «On Approval of the Regulations on Certification of Tour Guides (Guides), Guide-Translators», which came into force effective September 1 of the current year, the relevant specialists must undergo certification once every five years.
