Sevastopol police: even if confidential data has already been “gone” to strangers, there is a chance to save your savings!

All of the above scammers are united by the desire to distract your attention with a conversation and, under some pretext, ask for the received SMS code or bank card details. After this, their accomplices call and continue to act out a criminal performance, posing as law enforcement officers. False law enforcement officers, trying to intimidate, claim that the disclosed personal data has fallen into the hands of criminals, and in order to save their savings and not be accused of “financing terrorism”, it is necessary to immediately transfer all the money to “safe” accounts.

Sevastopol police warn that real officials of government agencies and representatives of legal commercial structures are never interested in codes from SMS, and transferring to a “safe” account one hundred percent means transferring your money in favor of cynical criminals.

If you do disclose confidential information, you have little time to prevent a crime. It is enough to call the servicing bank at the number indicated on a bank card or the website of a financial institution, block a bank account, change passwords and PIN codes.

When you tell strangers the password for your personal account on the State Services portal, change it immediately, contact the employees servicing the portal and tell them about what happened. Warn your loved ones that, having gained access to your account, attackers can send them a message from your page asking for a transfer of funds.

In addition, in any such situations, you must immediately contact 102, where messages from citizens are accepted around the clock. If the compromised information is used to obtain a loan in your name or any illegal scheme, then the fact that you contacted the police will serve as strong evidence that you were not involved in what happened.

Remember: following simple precautions will save you from serious trouble!
