Sevastopol presented gastronomic traditions as part of the project “Food in Russia!” in Moscow
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Sevastopol chef of the MOMO restaurant Petr Matveev took part in the federal project “ProEDU in Russia” — “Code of Regions”, organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The event took place as part of the PirExpo forum, where Russian regions demonstrated their most vibrant and original dishes.
The Sevastopol participant presented a historical dish — salt-sisol. It was served at the end of the 19th century at the famous Kist Hotel, located in the heart of the city. Chef Peter Matveev managed to breathe new life into this culinary masterpiece, presenting it in a modern interpretation. The result exceeded all expectations — the audience’s ovation was the best confirmation of his skill.
The “ProEDU Across Russia” project is not just a competition, it is a real mission to revive and promote the culinary heritage of our country. As part of this program, it is planned to actively develop and popularize gastronomic traditions in Sevastopol, including such unique ones as the lost officer’s kitchen. I am sure that such initiatives will help Sevastopol take its rightful place on the gastronomic map of Russia, attracting connoisseurs of authentic cuisine and opening up new facets of our city— quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol. Deputy Governor Maria Litovko.
Let us remind you that Sevastopol was one of 13 pilot regions for the development of gastrotourism within the framework of the “ProEDU in Russia” program, selected among 70 regions of the country. The program is aimed at creating a vibrant gastronomic brand for each region, developing gastrotourism and attracting tourists through taste, culture and local traditions.
