Sevastopol: road workers must unscheduled strengthen the structure of the Dnieper Bridge on December 18

Road services, on behalf of the governor, are speeding up unscheduled repairs of the Dnieper Bridge. Previously, it was planned that the work would last a week and end on December 20, but on the instructions of Mikhail Razvozhaev everything should be done on December 18. For this purpose, repairs will be carried out in two shifts. Not all of the work is visible from the road: both the roadbed and the structures under the bridge are being strengthened.

Repair work is aimed at preventing the collapse of structures on platforms and railway tracks. For the work, it was necessary to partially restrict traffic on the road in the direction “to the city.” For now, two lanes are closed — right and left. But in the coming days, traffic will be diverted: the central lane in the direction of traffic “to the city” will be blocked.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of transport and development of road transport infrastructure Stanislav Tamataev.

At the same time, road workers are strengthening the lower part of the overpass. There they arrange protection for the lower slabs and beams of the superstructure. This work is carried out in the so-called “windows” provided by the Crimean Railway, to allow the movement of trains, as well as disconnection of power grids.

We understand that the renovation work has caused inconvenience to city residents. However, they will not last long. We paid attention to the wishes of motorists to increase the green phase of the traffic light in the direction of travel “to the city”. However, our specialists monitored the situation, and it is worth noting that this decision will entail an increase in the red phase of the traffic light on the side of traffic “from the city”. Thus, congestion will also form on the side of the Trolleybus Descent,” explained Stanislav Tamataev.

Currently, design and survey work is underway. After which a source of funding will be determined for a full reconstruction of the overpass.
