Sevastopol was visited by more than 420 thousand tourists in 2025
In 2025, Sevastopol was visited by more than 420 thousand tourists (72.5% more than in 2024) and 5 million excursionists (2.5 times higher than last year’s figure). Attendance at the city’s key museums has doubled; the New Chersonesos museum and temple complex remains one of the most popular places; a Museum of Christianity was opened here in 2025.
During the high season, the occupancy of Sevastopol accommodation facilities reached 80%. An important step towards increasing comfort and transparency in the tourism industry was the adoption of a law regulating the activities of guest houses. The new rules create clear conditions for business and open up additional opportunities for replenishing the city budget.
A network of tourist information centers provided active assistance to guests — in 2025, TIC specialists provided more than 61 thousand free consultations, helping with choosing routes and organizing leisure activities.
There are 107 cultural institutions in Sevastopol — they were visited by 7.9 million people, and this year more than 40 festival projects were held in the Hero City. The city leads the country in creating modern children’s model libraries, which were visited over 242 thousand times in a year. This year, three Sevastopol libraries were re-equipped according to the model standard. Library named after L.N. Tolstoy became the center of the first regional branch of the Russian Library Association in the Southern Federal District.
Sevastopol institutions and creative teams have achieved high professional results. Theater named after A.V. Lunacharsky was among the nominees for the national Golden Mask award for the first time, and the performance of the Theater of Young Spectators was included in the Golden Fund of Russian theatrical productions. Four groups of the city were awarded the title “Honored Collective of Folk Art of the Russian Federation.”
In the spring of 2025, the multifunctional cultural center “Kazachya Bay” was opened. Now there are 20 studios here for vocals, choreography, ship modeling, journalism and other areas, in which 800 children are trained. In the summer, on the site of the old club, a modern two-story cultural center was opened in the 1st department of Zolotaya Balka with an auditorium with 112 seats, a choreographic hall, circle rooms and a library.
A landmark event was the construction of a new storage facility for the Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve on Antichny Avenue. A large-scale complex with scientific laboratories, lecture halls, exhibition halls and interactive areas will open its doors to visitors in 2026.
The creation of a cultural cluster on Cape Khrustalny continues at a good pace. There is already a Choreography Academy operating here, whose students demonstrate their skills at the largest venues in the country. In December 2025, construction of the Russian Art Gallery was completed.
