Sevprirodnadzor is clearing the banks of Balaklavka. Manually

Sevprirodnadzor cleared the bank of the Balaklavka River in the area of ​​Novikova Street. This year, this is the third section on this river that the environmental department is putting in order under the federal project “Water of Russia” of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”.

Every year, a large amount of garbage (bottles, plastic, bags) accumulates on the banks of Balaklavka, which during rains and winds falls into the riverbed, clogs it and interferes with the passage of water. The task is to collect garbage and remove overgrowth in order to increase the throughput of the river bed.

The length of the river with its tributaries in the territory of Sevastopol is 7.832 km. As a result of clearing the trees and shrubs and household waste clogging the river bed, the coastline with a total area of ​​more than 5,000 square meters was cleared. m, 3 cubic meters of garbage were collected.

In 2026, as part of the federal project “Water of Russia,” Sevprirodnadzor plans to tidy up more than 15 coastal areas along the Belbek, Kacha, Chernaya, Balaklavka rivers and along the Black Sea coastline.
